Our Mission

Our mission is to provide compassionate support, hands-on education, and evidence-based guidance for reptile and amphibian care. We believe in meeting keepers where they are—without judgment—and helping them build the knowledge and confidence needed to provide their animals with safe, healthy, and enriched lives. Through community education, responsible rehoming, and sanctuary care, we strive to make reptile keeping accessible, ethical, and deeply rewarding.

Meet the Founder

Hi! My name is Katarina and I’ve been working with animals for as long as I can remember. I grew up on a small farm surrounded by horses, sheep, and goats, and many of my earliest memories involve caring for the native reptiles and amphibians we found around our property.

One of the biggest moments that shaped my love for reptiles happened when we found an injured rubber boa. My parents set her up temporarily while we looked for help. A short time later, we checked on her and discovered she had given birth—one of the few snake species that gives live birth. We found a wildlife expert who could care for her and her babies, and that experience sparked a lifelong passion for the scaly kind.

As an adult, I entered the veterinary field and am currently working toward my veterinary technician certification. My goal is to use this knowledge to educate others on proper reptile husbandry, nutrition, enrichment, and general health. Here at Magic Dragon Reptiles, we give reptiles and amphibians a second chance—whether through rehabilitation, sanctuary care, or helping owners find the right home for their pets. I believe in compassion, education, and support without judgment.
